Matt Gehring is a New York–based director specializing in comedy and performance, with more than 100 productions spanning sketch, solo work, and musical theater. His directing credits include Harry Clarke with Billy Crudup (Berkeley Rep, assistant to Leigh Silverman), Pop Roulette’s Amazing Earth featuring SNL’s Bowen Yang and Matt Rogers, and five-star runs at the Edinburgh Fringe for Ellie Macpherson, Alexis Gay, and Lane Kwederis, as well as the pilot youth production of Shaina Taub’s Suffs at Stagedoor Manor. He created and directs the long-running SHIZ: Broadway Meets Sketch Comedy and founded CAMP, the Comedy Artist Makers Program at the Obie Award–winning Ars Nova.
